Call for Contributions – Workshops International Conference 2026

Call for Contributions – Workshops International Conference 2026

15 October 2025

The next big international conference of the Section for Inclusive Social Development will take place from October 2–6, 2026 at the Goetheanum, under the theme "Abundance and Limits – Transitions as Opportunities". We warmly invite you to submit a proposal for a workshop that you would like to offer in thatspace!

Each workshop will consist of three sessions of 90 minutes each, taking place on consecutive days (Saturday to Monday).

Workshops are an opportunity to share professional practices, methods and approaches, to work together on questions and themes that are important to our field of work, and to build connections within our worldwide network. We encourage you to offer workshops that include some of the following features, as appropriate to your theme:

Interactive methodology (including dialogue, experiential and artistic processes, and other forms of active engagement of participants)

Co-facilitation by two or more presenters

Low barrier design, inviting participation by self-advocates with support needs

Inclusion of diverse perspectives and lived experience (including sensitivity to cultural diversity)

Participation in multiple languages

This year’s conference theme is “Abundance and Limits – Transitions as Opportunities”. Workshops offer a broad forum for professional exchange and don’t need to address this theme directly, but we encourage you to explore possibilities to link to this theme if it makes sense within your concept.

Possible themes can range from practice fields, such as social psychiatry, supportive education in schools or end-of-life care to artistic and embodied practices, spiritual work, and inner development to organizational questions, research, and self-advocacy work – to name just some examples.

Please submit your proposal by December 20, 2025 via our online form.

Proposals will be reviewed by a peer review committee, and we will let you know by January 20th 2026 whether your workshop has been chosen for inclusion in the program. We may also ask you whether we can waitlist your workshop, in case another workshop is canceled.

We are looking for diversity in themes, approaches and workshop designs to meet the needs of our diverse and inclusive community of participants. Selection of workshops will therefore not only be based on the quality of your proposal, but also on the need for an overall balanced composition of the program. We ask for your understanding in advance, should your offer not make it into the program!

If you have any questions regarding this call and the submission process, please contact us at inclusivesocial@goetheanum.ch.

Thank you so much for your engagement!
