Social space design – social therapy working group

The Social Therapy Working Group focuses on all questions connected with the life and support of adults with disabilities. At its summer meeting, the Social Therapy Working Group visits organizations in social therapy to engage in collegial exchange and consultation. The winter meeting is dedicated to the deepening of social therapeutic themes. A detailed description of the group’s tasks and ways working can be found in the concept paper.

All documents that the working group has developed to date can be found on this page.

The working group last met in Wuppertal, Germany in November 2025 and discussed the challenges of social psychiatry using the examples of Hof Sondern and Porta e. V. The inclusive meeting with people from Porta e. V. was particularly moving.
There was much discussion about the need for security and good relationships. How can places be designed to enable successful biographies when people have experienced trauma and exclusion in their lives?

The next conference will take place from May 27 to 31, 2026, in Järna, Sweden. If you are interested in participating, please contact us.
